Barrel racing- Amateur/ Pony
2D Poles- Junior, Youth, Senior -no paybacks on regular shows
4D Barrel- Open 50% payback at regular shows/ 80% payback on money
shows plus added added money
1D – Fastest time
2D – 1 second slower than the fastest time
3D – 2 seconds slower than the fastest time
4D- 3 seconds slower than the fastest time
Pole Bending- Amateur/ Pony
2D Poles- Junior/ Youth/ Senior 80% Payback on money shows and added
money / no paybacks on regular shows
Flag Race- Senior/ Youth/ Junior/ Amateur/ Pony
Dash for Cash- Senior/ Youth/ Junior/ Amateur/ Pony
Points will be awarded according to standings *(Must be member to be
awarded points)
Ribbons will be awarded to:
Pony & Amateur (1st to 6th)
Junior, Youth, Senior & Open (1st to 3rd)

Pony: Riders 13 and under that need to be led or who are not at as
competitive; No cross entries in any other divisions
Amateur: Adult riders looking to enter or re-enter sport but are unable to
complete patterns at full speed. No Cross entry into any other division.
Junior: Riders 13 and under and able to ride independently
Youth: Riders 14-17
Senior: Riders 18 and over
2D & 4D is an open class for all riders, except for pony and amateur riders

Regulations
•
In barrel racing, a knocked-down barrel will result in a 5 second
penalty being added to the time of the run. In the 3D barrels, a
spilled barrel will result in a disqualification.
•
In pole bending, a knocked-down pole will result in a 5 second
penalty being added to the time of the run. In 2D pole bending, a
pole knocked down will result in a disqualification.
•
In flag, and dash for cash, a knocked down barrel or pole will result
in a disqualification.
o
Exhibitions are $5 each max 2 runs in ring. No ribbons or
points awarded for year end awards
o
Futurity is only for horses 5years old and under and class is
$5; members are awarded points for this division for year end
•
The Division Director will act as the judge for the Western Games at
all shows.
•
Abusive behavior will not be tolerated in any manner including and
not limited to other competitors, animals, and/or show staff and
volunteers.
•
The use of bats and spurs are allowed. Batting in front of the
shoulder is not permitted and will result in disqualification.
•
Running out of the chute will not be tolerated. Riders must control
their horses and exit the chute as calmly as possible to ensure the
safety of others.
•
The ring will be dragged at the beginning of each class and after
every 7 riders.
•
The 3D barrels will be run as an open stakes class. Prizes will be
paid out to the first-place winner of each division being one second
apart; 1D, 2D and 3D. Payback will be dependent on the number of
riders in the 3D class
•
Re-rides= any breakage or failure of contestants' own equipment
does not constitute a re-ride. Re-Rides will be awarded in the event
of an electronic timer malfunction only.
•
Day Memberships do not qualify for year end points/awards.
Day passes must provide a current insurance provider and policy
number at each show and also provide it on every entry form.
A signed waiver/ liability form must be signed by an adult or guardian of
someone 18 years or younger
•
Members must compete in a minimum of 3 TPHC Gaming shows
using the same horse and rider combo to qualify for year end prizes.
o
Secretary fee of $5 is added to each horse and rider combo
o
Day pass is $10
Proper Attire
All riders must wear the following:
•
Approved helmets must be worn by all riders
under the age of 18 years. (All riders are
encouraged to wear helmets for their own
safety.) All other riders must wear an
appropriate western style hat.
•
Western boots with an appropriate heel. Boots
must easily slide out of stir-up and cannot be
wedged in.
•
Western Shirt, Jeans or western style pant,
Belt with a buckle recommended

System
Points will be awarded according to standings.

Prizes will be paid out to the first-place winner only
of each division being one second apart; 1D, 2D,
3D & 4D Payback will be dependent on the number
of riders in the 4D class. Payback is 50% of total of
entries for that day.
On a added money show the 2D Open poles &
2D/4D Open Barrels, placings are awarded to 1st-
3rd in each D placing.
Amateur & Pony divisions can not compete in
these classes, as they are open class.
80% payback of all entries get added to the added
money pot that day
